Tasting Notes

  • BURG

    Burghound, April 2015,
    Score: 92-94

This is also exceptionally spicy which adds considerably breadth to the otherwise somber and restrained nose of pure, cool and airy extract of red and dark berry fruit aromas. There is good size and weight to the tautly muscled, intense and detailed medium weight plus flavors that are underpinned by firm tannins and evident minerality on the succulent, intense and mouth coating finish. This too is well worth considering if you have the patience to wait. Drink 2023+

Region

Echézeaux

One of two Grand Crus within the Flagey-Echezeaux area right in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Relatively large and consequently diverse for a Grand Cru, the better Echézeaux wines undoubtedly deserve this status. As always in Burgundy vineyard location and grower is critical.
