Goedhuis, December 2012
The most elegant of all the Montrachets, this is a beauty, focusing on refinement and sophistication. The beautifully perfumed aromas are pefectly integrated with the gentle citrus and creamy palate and very long on the finish. A superb cuvee

Burghound, June 2013,
Score: 94A pure and elegant if very restrained nose reluctantly offers up notes of white flower, lemon zest, wet stone and an herbal tea hint. There is an equally stony character to the beautifully detailed middle weight plus flavors that possess real verve and superb depth on the gorgeously textured and markedly firm finish. This does a slow build from the mid-palate to the explosive and palate staining finish. A Zen wine of considerable understatement that will require all of a decade to arrive at its full potential. Domaine Etienne Sauzet

Etienne Sauzet is one of the great estates of Puligny Montrachet, taking its name from current incumbent Emilie Riffault's great grandfather who founded this domaine in the early 1900s. It boasts 15 hecatres of vineyards, comprising four white grands crus in Puligny and Chassagne and nine premiers crus. Today, under Emilie and husband Benoit's direction, their owned vineyards are fully biodynamic and they are one of the flag bearers for the appellation of Puligny.
Region
Chevalier-Montrachet
Chevalier-Montrachet is a tiny Grand Cru appellation for white wine situated on the stony slopes just above Le Montrachet towards the southern end of the Cote d'Or. The wines are exceptional, if slightly lighter in style than their neighbour down the hill.
