  • Goedhuis, February 2011

A very spiced fruit style, this is a wine with real density, and focuses on weight and structure. A big and broad wine with superb levels of concentration, this has the natural power to allow it to age for a very long time indeed,

  • Burghound, January 2011, Score: 93-95

Background floral notes combine with ripe, earthy, somber and notably serious aromas that lead to dense, powerful and tautly muscular flavors that brim with tannin-buffering dry extract, all wrapped in a velvety, firm and linear finish. This is sensational though note that patience will be required. Drink: 2024+.Notes: from a 1.36 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines situated close to the Château; vinified with 50% whole clusters.Comments: don't miss!

  • Burghound, January 2012, Score: 95

Background floral notes combine with ripe, earthy, somber and notably serious aromas that lead to dense, powerful and tautly muscular flavors that brim with an amazing amount of tannin-buffering dry extract, all wrapped in a velvety, firm and linear finish. This is genuinely sensational and one of the very best examples of the appellation in the 2009 vintage though I hasten to point out that patience will be required. Drink: 2024+.Notes: from a 1.37 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines situated close to the Château; vinified with 50% whole clusters.
