Goedhuis, November 2009
A wonderfully appealing Bonnes Mares that is crunchy and sweet at the same time, offering notes ofcranberries, morello cherries and red currants. It perfectly captures Bonnes Mares' true essenceand the domaine's style.

Burghound, January 2010, Score: 91-94
This is also strongly reduced. The tautly muscled and imposingly sized flavors are very tight and backwards and it's clear that this is going to be a long distance runner as the finish is austere, strict and very serious. There is however excellent underlying material and impeccable balance but again, this is a "buy and forget" wine. Drink: 2022+.Notes: from a 1.5 ha parcel that is almost entirely in terres rouges.

This substantial Gevrey Chambertin domaine is under the guardianship of a collaborative family team: parents Christine and Philippe, and children Caroline and Nicolas. They have an embarrassment of riches within their armoury of four 1ers Crus and six exceptional Grands Crus, culminating with plots of both Clos de Bèze and Le Musigny. They also boast one of the finest two storey cellars in the Côte d’Or, built by members of the Prussian military on their way back from the Hundred Years War, with ideal conditions maintaining perfect temperatures for Philippe’s preferred two-year élevage in cask. The wines are ripe, concentrated, and often earthy and textured. They offer terrific value, particularly in Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru.Read less

Bonnes Mares
Perched between Morey-St-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny in the heart of the Cotes de Nuits this Grand Cru appellation can balance the best characteristics of both. Bonnes Mares wines combine fragrance and femininity with body and power. A seductive combination indeed.
