    This is more elegant still aromatically yet it's also cooler and more reserved making the taster work to coax the beautiful mix of red, blue and violet aromas from the glass. The supple, textured and sweet flavors possess an underlying streak of minerality and the abundant sap renders the firm and ripe tannins almost invisible. This will be capable of long-term aging though 10 to 12 years should see it at its peak. Also terrific.

Latricières Chambertin

Latricières-Chambertin is one of the nine Grands Crus in the Gevrey-Chambertin district on the Côte de Nuits, producing red wine from Pinot Noir. It is located on a gentle slope in the far south of Gevrey-Chambertin next to the Morey-St-Denis border. The vineyard lies on white oolite soils, sheltered from the winds and hail by the woods of the Montagne de la Combe Grisard to the North West. When young these wines are bursting with strawberry and raspberry flavours, as well as violets and gamey undertones. Compared to other Grand Cru Gevrey, Latricières-Chambertin is not ultra-powerful and seems to exude a sublime lacy quality.
