After 37 years of aging in Colombia, the rum was placed for four months to the cask after Bordeaux wine from Entre-Deux-Mers appellation. In nose: cocoa, sweet milk chocolate, raisins, date, apricot, Williams pear. The most subtle aroma of all these rums. In mouth sweetness, dried fruit and nuts, walnuts; finishes with prunes, leather, tea.
Named after Severa Arango y Ferro who arrived in Colombia in the 18th century to collect taxes for Spain, which earned him the name “Dictador”, the company was founded by one of his direct descendants, Don Julia Arango y Parra, in 1913. Dictador's rums are produced in Cartagena using sugar cane honey rather than molasses, which produces a much higher calibre of rum with a fresher nose, well-integrated alcohol and a naturally lighter colour.
