Domaine Parisse is a brilliant husband and wife team who make delicous wines at reasonable prices from some of the Mâconnais' finest vineyards. The 2018 is packed with ripe, juicy stone fruit flavours such as nectarine, peach and apricot, mingled with white flowers. The palate is nicely rounded and has a pleasing weight, tempered by a tingling minerality and a fine acidity. Lovely.
Domaine Parisse is located in the heart of the vilage of Pouilly-Fuissé amongst the ancient stone buildings, The 20 hectares of vines surround the neighbouring countryside. They are one of the few domaines who produce multiple ‘lieux dits' whichcan be considered as honorary 1er Crus in quality. Their Pouilly Fuissés are wonderfully pure and mineral which are aged in seasoned and new oak barrels which never dominate the fruit but add lacy complexity and depth.
At the southern tip of the Mâconnais lies Pouilly Fuisse - one of a group of five villages amid rolling limestone hills producing the most serious white wines in the area. At their best this is serious Chardonnay indeed, golden, rich and ripe. There is no hierarchy of wines in Pouilly Fuisse, but the appellation name may be followed by the name of a specific vineyard.
