  • Goedhuis, March 2024

These 80-year-old vines on a granite slope, are some of the oldest vines of the appellation and sit at a higher altitude than those of Ongrie. It sees a slightly longer ageing than Ongrie too, 17 months with 20% new oak, which gives an appealing richesse and beeswax edge to the attractive white pear, nectarine, and apricot flavours. Meadow flowers and cream add further complexity, as does the waxy, honeyed texture, finishing lifted and fresh. Tasted from cask, this deserves time to develop, it is a wonderful wine. Drink 2025– 2029.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 90-92

I tasted various samples that will compose the final blend of the 2022 Saint-Joseph. Vinified from fully destemmed fruit, it expresses sour cherry nuances, black cherry, distant blackberry, spicy undertones and some cedar. Medium-bodied and backed by fresh acidity, it shows solid potential. Drink 2024-2028.

  • Goedhuis, March 2024

From another lieu dit whose vines are 70 years old, the decomposed granite found in this vineyard is sandy and friable, the same soil as you find in Ch Grillet. Fresh orchard fruits, and fragrant white flowers define this 2022 which has a delicately fine texture and intensely mineral palate. The finish is mouthwatering and saline. Gorgeous. Drink 2024-2032.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 94

The 2022 Condrieu Chéry deserves a round of applause. Vinified from just-ripe Viognier grapes harvested on the 24th of August, it dazzles with pronounced intensity of lemon flesh, apricot, white peach, ripe pear, cedar and quince. Banana and melon lend tropical gradations. Despite the fairly warm and dry vintage, the 2022 captures the freshness remarkably well. Landing on a complex finish, this Condrieu is built for the long haul and comes highly recommended. Drink 2024-2033.

2022 Condrieu La Bonnette René Rostaing

  • Goedhuis, March 2024

From the southwest facing granite lieu dit La Côte Bonnette, which is the first parcel in the Condrieu appellation after the border with Côte Rôtie. This cuvée is vinified in 100% stainless steel to ensure maximum expression of the Viognier fruit. This 2022 is full of apricot, nectarine and fleshy white peach flavours wrapped around white flowers, ground almonds and flecks of pineapple. Rich, yet refreshing, it holds its finesse, and the tingling minerality on the finish leaves a lasting freshness. Drink 2024-2030.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 93

The fragrant 2022 Condrieu La Bonnette dazzles with vivid quince, apricot, ripe peach and spring blossom aromas. Viscously textured and fruit-forward, it is built around a juicy core of stone fruits and brings it home with a complex finale. Drink 2024 – 2028.

Availability: En Primeur Status: Sold out Size: 6x75cl Qty: - £110.00 In Bond
  • Goedhuis, March 2024

From the clay-limestone soils, just across the river from the Hermitage hill, this 2022 is a textbook Crozes that is deep, rich and succulent. The palate is bursting with juicy wild strawberries black olive and liquorice. The palate is lively thanks to chalky tannins and a bright freshness. Enjoy in its youth over the next five to ten years. Drink 2025 – 2035.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 88-90

The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage opens with raspberry jam and black cherry mixed with minty undertones. Light- to medium-bodied, this is a fruit-driven and polished Crozes-Hermitage framed by low levels of soft tannins. Raspberry flavors linger on the juicy finish. Drink 2024-2027.

2022 Cornas Les Chailles Domaine Alain Voge

£185.00 In Bond

Availability: En Primeur Status: Sold out Size: 6x75cl Qty: - £185.00 In Bond
  • Goedhuis, March 2024

A very true example of this appellation, made with fruit from 6 different locations on the lower slopes of Cornas. Winemaker Lionel destems the grapes for this cuvee, performs a gentle maceration over two weeks in stainless steel before ageing for 18 months in old oak barrels. On the nose, wild forest fruits such as strawberry, ripe blackberry and plum are flecked with pepper, incense and bacon fat. Tightly grained tannins provide a grippy base to the vibrant fruit, which is well balanced and shows pleasing freshness, particularly on the finish. Drink 2026-2035.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 92-94

The 2022 Cornas Les Chailles blends juice from fully destemmed grapes grown in five different lieux-dits. Violet, iodine, blackberry, black cherry and meaty aromatics are all nicely knit together, complemented by forest floor gradations. Elegant and refreshing, this medium-bodied 2022 is enveloped by polished tannins and culminates in a fruit-laden finale. It is scheduled to spend a total of 18 months in second- through sixth-fill barriques. Drink 2025-2032

2022 Côte Rôtie Côte Blonde René Rostaing

Availability: En Primeur Status: Released Size: 6x75cl Qty: 5 £580.00 In Bond Status: Released Qty: - £715.24 Inc VAT
  • Goedhuis, March 2024

A fascinating contrast to La Landonne, the Côte Blonde is bursting with more high-toned red fruit and red floral aromas and flavours, thanks to the white limestone and granite soils of this vineyard. This 2022 is mineral and tensile with a more aerial structure thanks to finer tannins. The finish lingers on sweet red and blue fruits, sweet spice and fresh rose. Very elegant. Drink 2028-2038.

  • Vinous, October 2023, Score: 94-96

Using 100% whole-clusters during fermentation, the 2022 Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde totally shines. Pronounced blackberry, black cherry, raspberry, pencil shavings, cedar and orange blossom nuances race out of the glass. Minty traces complement the complex aromatic profile. The 2022 Côte Blonde hits the palate with striking inner energy and concentration. Firmly built like a skyscraper, it will demand extended time in the cellar once bottled. Drink 2030-2042

  • Decanter, March 2024, Score: 95

Gently fragrant jasmine and rose, very Côte Blonde in terms of aromatics. Soft, velvety mouthfeel with flavours of blackberry, cassis and more rose. Slightly higher alcohol and lower acidity than a typical year, not as tense and upright as some recent vintages, making for a luxurious, rich style of Côte-Rôtie. Four weeks in tank, 18 months in oak, limited new oak, natural yeasts and as many stems as possible. Drink 2026-2038.
