Offers | Brunello di Montalcino Conti Costanti 2015

We are delighted to offer a small parcel of Conti Costanti's superb 2015 Brunello di Montalcino.
At an altitude of 440 metres, the 12-hectare Conti Costanti estate sits at the limit of what the Sangiovese grape can physically achieve. This highly respected winery located just outside the walls of Montalcino has been in the hands of the Costanti family since the 16th century.
Soil, exposure and elevation play a vital role here in determining the style and longevity of the Brunellos produced. Costanti’s signature is one of striking elegance, femininity and intensity, a combination of the power of Montalcino with the freshness and firmness that comes from vineyards situated at a high altitude in this northern part of the zone.
The warmth of 2015 played perfectly into winemaker Andrea Costanti’s hands. The moderate temperatures at this lofty elevation, and importantly the cool evenings, created the perfect balance of ripeness and freshness. The conditions around harvest time couldn’t have been better.
One of Costanti’s closest neighbours is the renowned Biondi Santi winery at Il Greppo and both of these wines share many similarities in this ‘fairy-tale vintage’, most notably a fine, firm structure that will allow for superb longevity. The temptation would be to drink this 2015 Brunello relatively early due to its irresistible sweet red fruit flavours and silky texture, but there is an underlying structure which will allow it to age for at least a decade.
Our allocation of Costanti’s Brunello is limited to 35 six bottle cases and 5 cases in magnum. If you can snap one of these up quickly, you will be treated to one of the most memorable wines of the 2015 vintage.
