2020 Santenay Blanc Les Terrasses de Bievaux Justin Girardin
£175.00 In Bond £242.14 Inc VAT £201.78 Duty Paid-
Goedhuis, December 2021
The steeply terraced slopes of Bievaux have a natural coolness giving this vineyard an excellent freshness, thereby overcoming the warmth of the 2020 summer months. Clear aromas of freshly squeezed lemon and lime, the bright zest of fruit sits comfortably alongside the silky, mid-palate texture and rewarding ripe scented fruit finish.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022, Score: 90
In bottle. Remarkably fresh, helped by some noble reduction. Very much gunflint style. Chiselled, quite light bodied but really delicious vivacious hillside white with quite good length.
2020 Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru En Caradeux Domaine Rapet Père et Fils
£180.00 In Bond £232.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2021
This impressive 1er Cru faces the hillside of Corton Charlemagne. The cool east-facing white marl slope makes it an ideal site for growing Chardonnay, particularly in a warmer vintage such as 2020. Vincent likes to age this wine in larger 350 litre barrels to protect its pure fruit character. With aromas of pear and white fruits, this is very perfumed and floral in nature. It has a great zest of freshness and long controlled finish.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022, Score: 90-92
A lovely clean lemon and lime colour, quite racy with a bit of bacon fat, punchy behind, some flesh, ripe citrus alongside the white fruit, wears its concentration lightly and is pleasingly long. Excellent finish.
2020 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge A F Gros
£120.00 In Bond £160.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2021
These vines are in a higher altitude location in the Hautes Côtes above Nuits St Georges. It is a naturally cooler site and has excelled in 2020. Very bright, energetic red cherry fruit flavours, an exciting purity, good tannic grip with a lovely bite and lift on the finish.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022, Score: 87-89
Excellent medium deep purple with a pinkish tinge. The aromatics are beautiful here, with a depth of flavour unusual in Hautes Côtes. Dark raspberry with fresher notes, loganberry perhaps, good grip behind and fair length. Well done.
2020 Auxey Duresses Comte Armand
£145.00 In Bond £190.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2021
A deeper, darker fruited style of Auxey Duresses this vintage. A wine with wild forest fruit flavours, and a striking amount of sweet gamey fruits. The tannins are pronounced and structured, giving great body and depth to this very interesting cuvée.

Neal Martin, December 2021, Score: 87-89
The 2020 Auxey-Duresses Village has just a tiny amount of whole bunch fruit. It has quite a precocious bouquet with ample blueberry and black cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, high-toned inky cassis fruit with a sweet, citric finish. Give this two or three years in bottle. Drink 2024 - 2032

Burghound, April 2022, Score: 88-90
Moderate reduction renders the nose difficult to assess though there is excellent freshness and vibrancy to the nicely detailed and more mineral-inflected flavors that conclude in a mildly rustic and youthfully austere finale. Some patience should be beneficial as this is fairly tightly wound at present. Drink 2026+

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022, Score: 86-88
Dark purple centre with a gorgeous plump deep raspberry fruit. Seductive and juicy, just shows a bit of extra richness at the back. Just finished malolactic, neither racked nor sulphured, so understandably ungainly. Enough acidity to compensate for the 14.5% alcohol.
2020 Marsannay Les Longeroies Charles Audoin
£155.00 In Bond £202.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2021
A fine location in the village and one of the contenders for Ier Cru promotion. Les Longeroies lies in the north of the village, and the water-retaining clay soils were clearly an important factor in this vineyard’s success during the drier months of 2020. Shining bright purple colour, with impressive fruit compote flavours. This is a very relaxed style, with a juicy central core of sweet dark fruits, the tannins are fine and contribute to the harmonious finish.

Burghound, January 2022, Score: 90-93
Slightly riper yet still appealingly fresh aromas reflect notes of liqueur-like dark currant, warm earth and a touch of anise. The delicious middle weight flavors possess a caressing and velvety texture, all wrapped in a bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that is just as persistent but not quite as complex, at least not yet. Drink 2028+. Outstanding.
