Burgundy may be associated with some of the world’s most historic wine names, but we forget the new and exciting at our peril. We have selected a range of wines to showcase young growers, rising stars and appellations, and the odd forgotten gem!

2021 Santenay Blanc Les Terrasses de Bievaux Justin Girardin
£250.00 In Bond £332.14 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
The steeply terraced slopes of Bievaux have a natural coolness giving this wine an excellent freshness. This is a bright, fresh and zippy style, intensified by some tropical fruit warmth. With flavours of orchard fruit, a taut concentrated style, full bodied and long.

Pale lime green notes. A slight reduction on the nose though otherwise attractively grapey. Justin thinks that the vintage works better in white, even though the volumes are even lower. Attractive pure and fresh with a good carry through to the end. Drink from 2024-2027.
2021 Mercurey 1er Cru La Chassiere Vincent et Jean-Pierre Charton
£150.00 In Bond £196.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, January 2023
An highly scented style, full of fresh strawberry and raspberry, with a gentle rose petal perfume. A silky easy texture, fine and approachable with an abundance of youthful pleasure.
2021 Mercurey 1er Cru en Sazenay Tupinier-Bautista
£275.00 In Bond £362.14 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
This is a fine southeastern facing Premier Cru with an ideal mix of clay and limestone in a Côte de Nuits fashion. Manu is fortunate enough to own a full hectare of it! Dark black forest fruits, clove and nutmeg and white truffle. A flamboyant volume, with velvety tannins, ample and very long. Lovely!
2021 Chassagne Montrachet Coffinet-Duvernay
£220.00 In Bond £280.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
An engaging mix of lime and lychee, this has great clarity of fruit. Bursting with zingy freshness, it is pure with a delicate weight on the finish.

From Houillères, Voillenots and Masures all good sites. Mid lemon yellow. The nose shows a pleasing barrel toast that is not excessive. This is lovely in the mouth, crisp and saline, with no sign of the barrel behind. Beautifully made from excellent sites. Drink from 2024-2027.
