En Primeur | Quintessential Appellations
This selection highlights some of the greatest village names in the world of wine. Each village is home to either a famous Grand Cru or a Premier Cru almost equal in quality. These wines show their individual terroir personalities but at prices a little more attainable (and with rather better availability) than the more senior Grands Crus within their commune. We’re limiting purchases to 1 case for many wines due to high demand. Please contact your account manager or wine@goedhuis.com to discuss larger quantities.
2021 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Bousselots François Legros
£275.00 In Bond £346.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
Sitting close to the town on its northern side heading to Vosne Romanée, this is a particularly good vineyard in the mould of Vosne. Brilliant red cherry colour, a little backward on the nose, but on the palate, characters of red fruit and sweet bramble pie develop. Not a powerful wine, but a good blend of mineral tension and sweet generosity. Very pleasing.

Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 88-90
The 2021 Nuits Saints-Georges Aux Bousselots 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with vibrant red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit, very pure with touches of mandarin and truffle. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, black and red fruit intermixed, quite briny towards the finish and more-ish, if just missing the finesse of some of Legros's other cuvées. Drink 2025-2040.
2021 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux Maison Roche de Bellene
£495.00 In Bond £610.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
The most northerly of Gevrey Chambertin’s Premiers Crus, this is an unctuously rich style of Gevrey. Flavours of tayberry and red cherry. A rewarding succulence, the tannins have a plumpness to them. Full and very good length.
2021 Chassagne Montrachet Bruno Colin
£320.00 In Bond £400.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
Bruno owns 1.7 hectares in 9 different locations to make his village Chassagne Montrachet, resulting in as complete an example as anybody could wish to find. Full of whipped and clotted cream Chardonnay flavours. It has a true earthy Chassagne sensation, polished and yet a touch rustic to show personality and drive. Very memorable for a village cuvée.
2021 Puligny Montrachet Cuvée de Maizière Ch de Marsannay
£370.00 In Bond £460.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
A classically styled Puligny from 0.5 hectares on the lower slopes of the appellation. A shimmering lime-tinged colour, with lively fresh citrus fruits, fresh apples and lemon sherbet. This has drive and a limestone mineral poise. Refined, pure and graceful, with a long, charming finish.
2021 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Christian Sérafin
£345.00 In Bond £430.07 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
This superb wine embodies the ethos of Domaine Serafin. Coming from two different plots in the appellation, one with vines of 70 years old and the other just over 100 years, it excelled in 2021. Bright garnet colour, a touch smoky, with deep savoury bramble fruits. A greater degree of exuberance and volume than the straight village cuvée. The tannic core is tighter in texture, giving firmness and persistence on the finish.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 90-93
A concentrated rich deep purple. Vanilla oak on the nose alongside the deeply concentrated dark red fruit. The vines date back to at least 1927, maybe older. Sweet and succulent dark raspberry fruit, fully eats up the wood tannins, with good length. This is how I remember classic Serafin. Drink from 2028-2035.
