En Primeur | Domaine Truchetet
Discovering this small 6 hectare estate in the village of Premeaux just outside Nuits St Georges has been one of our most exciting discoveries of 2022. Morgan Truchetet, wife Pauline, and his sister Julie took over the running of the domaine in 2019. Pauline has been a close friend for many years, first during her time working at Domaine de l’Arlot and then assisting Bruno Colin in Chassagne Montrachet. Quite a CV! The estate wines are 100% focused around Nuits St Georges and, since taking over, Morgan has supplemented the range by buying in fruit to vinify under a negociant label for appellations where they don’t own vineyards. For these he follows the same quality criteria and ideals as for the domaine.

Goedhuis, December 2022
From a selection of 60-year-old vines, this is a 1 hectare vineyard on a mix of limestone and clay. The fruit is handled very gently with no pigeage, and the wine is aged in casks, 25% of which are new oak. A wine with great Pinot expression, loganberry and brambles. Good richness resulting from a later picking date, 25th September, and this has charming persistence.

Goedhuis, December 2022
The limestone soil and 100% destemmed fruit make for a radiant and bright wine. Shining violet colour, hints of tayberry and lavender scent, with a chalky minerality. So full of energy and life, with a fine purity. Very fine.

Goedhuis, December 2021
Half a hectare of superbly positioned vines just the other side of the road below the famous Clos de la Maréchale which in a good year gives them five barrels of exquisite wine. Aromas of blueberry and peony, with an appealing herbal edge. This has depth and vigour showing the benefits of mature vines all planted in 1963. A wine which belies its classification.

Goedhuis, January 2023
A blend of two very respected lieux dits, Clos Solon and its neighbour Bas Chenevery, whose higher slopes are within the Premier Cru classification. An aromatic, Chambollesque wine, brilliant red cherry colour, and flavours of cranberry and red currant. Pure and energetic with a striking sweetness of red fruits on the finish.

Goedhuis, January 2023
Coming from a field called Le Seuvrées bordering Morey St Denis, it makes a wine of great charm and grace. Tayberry and loganberry fruits, sweet and generous, the tannins are silky and round with a touch of spiced toasted oak at the end.
2021 Chambolle Musigny Morgan Truchetet

Goedhuis, December 2022
From a single source, the domaine oversees the management of the vines and then buys in the grapes, to show Chambolle in its truest light. The fruit is 100% destalked and a cool maceration for a few days prior to the fermentation enhances the colour and primary fruit flavour. Red cherry and silky charm. Beautifully balanced with all the components. Fruit, alcohol and gentle tannin sit comfortably alongside each other. A gorgeous example of Chambolle Musigny.
