This small 6 hectare estate in the village of Premeaux just outside Nuits St Georges has been one of our most exciting recent discoveries. Morgan Truchetet, wife Pauline, and his sister Julie took over the running of the domaine in 2019. Pauline has been a close friend for many years, first during her time working at Domaine de l’Arlot and then assisting Bruno Colin in Chassagne Montrachet. Quite a CV! The estate wines are 100% focused around Nuits St Georges and, since taking over, Morgan has supplemented the range by buying in fruit to vinify under a negociant label for appellations where they don’t own vineyards. For these he follows the same quality criteria and ideals as for the domaine.

From an average selection of 60-year-old vines this is a 1 hectare vineyard on a mix of limestone and clay. The fruit is handled very gently with no pigeage, and the wine aged in casks, 25% of which are new oak. Lying on the other side of the road from Arlot’s Clos de Forets, this vineyard produces very small berries, giving a Bourgogne of great concentration. A depth of summer pudding and Morello cherry flavours and noticeable substance, sweet and lingering on the finish.

A delicious degree of sweet intensity from this fine Pinot from the higher slopes in the Cote de Nuits. Brimming with bramble fruits and small berry concentration, hints of cocoa and spice at the end. A lovely forward drinking cuvée.

In 2022 Morgan reverted back to doing some whole bunch vinification in all his cuvées; combined with the vineyard’s limestone soil, this expresses a high class fruit content. Hints of nutmeg, spice and bilberry, there is a perfect balance between sweetness and a lively bite and lift of freshness.

Made from half a hectare of superbly positioned vines just the other side of the road below the famous Clos de la Marechale, they have five barrels of this lovely cuvée in 2022! Maraschino cherry and dark currant, it has the sweet ripeness of the vintage. The tannins are polished but provide substance and refined weight.

This fine wine's shyness on the nose is fully made up for by its energy and bright fresh red berry characters on the palate, full of purity, energy and a lively cranberry personality. A blend of two neighbouring parcels in Clos Solon and Bas Chenevery, with a fine lacy texture and a Chambollesque charm. Quite delicious.

A single parcel site called Les Seuvrées on the borders to Morey St Denis and produces a more refined and scented expression of Gevrey. An abundance of wild hedgerow fruits, there is a warmth and generosity about the wine, showing the characteristics of the vintage, rounded tannins and a rewarding juicy succulence at the end.

From a single source, the domaine oversees the management of the vines and buys in the grapes, showing Chambolle in its truest light. Charming characters of mulberry, violet and lavender, it offers a delicious balance between opulence and refinement. Whilst certainly generous, it has a lovely, controlled harmony sitting underneath.
