En Primeur | Domaine Tollot-Beaut

Tollot-Beaut own 24 hectares of vineyards in the communes of Chorey lès Beaune, Savigny lès Beaune, Aloxe Corton and Beaune. They were one of the first estates in the Côte d’Or to bottle their own wines in the 1930s and market them under their domaine label. Today the estate is run by Nathalie Tollot and her two cousins, Olivier and wine maker Jean-Paul Tollot. Jean-Paul aims to please: he wants his wines to be approachable, without losing any appellational identity. This youthful charm can be misleading, as history shows the estate’s wines also have an outstanding propensity to age.

One of the things we greatly missed last year, however good Zoom is, was our tasting in Domaine Tollot-Beaut’s cool cellars in Chorey lès Beaune with our great friend Nathalie. Happy to be back together in 2020, this was a stunning tasting. She is always smiling and open with her thoughts on each wine and describes the vintage as having a certain flamboyance. Their wines have a delicious fruit expression and the youthful wow factor which Jean-Paul so likes. Gentle extraction was key, and this is a very fine selection.

We’re limiting purchases to 1 or 2 cases per wine due to high demand. Please contact your account manager or wine@goedhuis.com to discuss larger quantities.

Bursting with creamy ripe guava and exotic fruit, with a delicate top note of hazelnut and orange peel. Lively freshness on the finish.

Recently racked. Fine mid lemon, a pleasant light bouquet, then much more intensity on the palate, some yellow plum but staying fresh, with a good long aftertaste

Tasting Notes

  • GDH

    Goedhuis, December 2021

A very striking Bourgogne rouge, with deeply intense dark berry fruits and a savoury, earthy tone. This has a soft, round mouth-feel, complemented by the bold richness of a warmer vintage which suits the Bourgogne rouge style perfectly. A lovely example of Côte de Beaune Pinot fruit.

Black with a purple rim. Very heady, rather over the top cooked raspberry. Thick chocolate texture, some acidity but I can’t see where this will go. Top of the tree at 15% alcohol
