  • Goedhuis, December 2020

The domaine has five parcels across the village and blends them to make a characterful and quintessential Chambolle Musigny. A very pleasing wine, with striking red cherry flavours. This is graceful and charming with a lovely appealing succulence, velvety tannins and a fine finish.

  • Burghound, April 2021, Score: 89-91

A pretty if somewhat somber nose reluctantly exhibits ripe aromas of violet, black cherry and spicy top notes. There is a lovely sense of refinement to the delineated and energetic flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the lingering finale. This will need to develop more depth to merit the top end of my projected range but it's already lovely. Outstaning Top value. Drink 89-91

  • Jasper Morris MW, December 2020, Score: 90-92

From five little plots. Glowing fresh purple. This is so suave, as always, but with a firmer finish. Good balance though and fair length. Usually the Chambolle is a good cuvée here and we are not let down this time. 4 stars

Region

Chambolle Musigny

The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
