Tasting Notes
-
Goedhuis, August 2020
The Dezats have parcels scattered around the village of Verdigny in the heart of the appellation and they have a long tradition of producing one single blend from them all. A bright lime tinge in the glass, and scented with subtle Sauvignon Blanc aromas of fresh currants and herbaceous notes. The palate is bright and energetic and flows into refined stone fruit flavours.
Producer
André Dezat

The Dezat family is one of the oldest growers in Sancerre. André Dezat along with his sons and grandsons are running the domaine and they are actively involved in the promotion of Sancerre wines.
Region
Sancerre
The picturesque town of Sancerre perches atop a hill on the left bank of the Loire with vineyards planted on limestone and clay hillsides. A total of 14 villages and 3 hamlets have the rights to produce Sancerre, and, due to the increasing popularity of the wine, the area under vine trebled in the last quarter of the 20th century. Often considered the classic home of Sauvignon Blanc, good Sancerre is crisp, elegant and aromatic, and among the finest and most complex Sauvignons in the world. Delicate reds and roses are also made from Pinot Noir.
