Tasting Notes
-
Burghound, April 2015,
Score: 92-95This is also quite plummy at present, indeed to the point that these aromas push the earth, spice and floral nuances to the background. There is imposing concentration and volume to the big-bodied, powerful and muscular flavors that possess outstanding complexity on the balanced, persistent and explosive finish, indeed this is borderline painful at present. This is a classically styled example with plenty of youthful austerity that makes it very clear this is a wine that will require plenty of patience. Drink 2027+
Producer
Benjamin Leroux

Following fifteen years as winemaker at Comte Armand, Benjamin Leroux is now amongst an elite band of specialist micro-négociants setting up in the Côte D’Or. Based in Beaune, Benjamin uses his network of contacts to source only the very best fruit and, where he has contracts, likes to advise on vineyard practices to make sure that the raw material is of the highest quality. He makes wines from a broad and diverse selection of appellations, but all show a true connection to their origins.
