Tasting Notes
-
Goedhuis, February 2011
Situated alongside the Grand Cru vineyard of Le Petit Musigny this is a superbly positioned vineyard and this stunning 2009 exudes class. Brilliant purple colour, the striking raspberry fruit aromas are carried through into the palate. The gentle and silky tannins are helped by a subtle freshness of acidity to produce a wine with real volume and appeal.

Neal Martin, January 2011,
Score: 90Bottled and tasted at the Domaine. This is a fine, quite floral bouquet with touches of rose petal and violets accompanying the dark cherry fruit. Good definition – develops a gourmand element with time. The palate has a taut entry, a little brusque even, very linear with chalky tannins towards the more masculine, structured finish.
-
Burghound, January 2011,
Score: 86-89A pretty and fresh nose of both red and blue pinot fruit, spice hints and a touch of wood toast leads to delicious and quite supple and forward flavors that evidence an attractive mineral streak on the delicious if not overly complex finish. This is appealing in its fashion.

Producer
Domaine Anne Gros

Anne Gros's quiet spoken nature is most certainly reflected in her wines. A visit to this small domaine in Vosne Romanée is always a highlight. Her wines are not big and powerful but totally focused on grace and finesse. The precise and elegant fruit characters of this stunning vintage have fallen into the hands of Anne. Although volumes are tiny, this is a beautiful selection of wines with extraordinary balance and therefore natural longevity.
Region
Chambolle-Musigny
The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
