    Deeply coloured with a fine tuned palate and pretty fruit. Keeping with the personality of Musigny, it offers more red fruit than black and fine, silky tannins. Not as structured as other vintages, this is beautifully elegant and poised.

    A liberally spiced and ultra fresh nose of airy red pinot fruit complements the rich, full and serious medium full-bodied flavors that possess a silky texture and a gorgeously intense and hugely long finish that has ample amounts of underlying tension. This is a Musigny of focused power where the finish is presently on the austere side and the overall impression is an understated wine that is built to age for several decades. Drink: 2022+.Notes: from a .12 ha parcel.

This substantial Gevrey Chambertin domaine is under the guardianship of a collaborative family team: Philippe Drouhin is ably assisted by son and daughter Nicolas and Caroline. First established in 1850, the domaine has major holdings in Gevrey Chambertin, as well as an impressive array of the Côte de Nuits’s grands crus, stretching from Gevrey down through Chambolle Musginy and into Vougeot. Recent investment at the domaine’s barrel hall will continue to drive quality at Drouhin Laroze. Their style falls somewhere between a modernist and a traditionalist. The wines are ripe, concentrated, and often earthy and textured. They offer terrific value, particularly in Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru.

Le Musigny

Le Musigny is a red Grand Cru vineyard based in Burgundy’s Chambolle Musigny village in the Côte de Nuits. Le Musigny is situated between the scrubland at the top of the slope and the upper section of Clos de Vougeot on well-draining limestone soil. The wines of Le Musigny are some of the best in Burgundy on a par with those of Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze.
