Always a daintier wine than the En Remilly, the 2010 Demoiselles yet again exudes a feminine air with lifted floral characters, lime zest and lemongrass. But its structure is more present than previous vintages due to 2010's concentration and condensed minerality. More of a lioness than agazelle.
(From a .15 ha parcel of 55+ year old vines). An elegant, pure and airy nose features cool aromas of white peach, pear, stone and floral elements. There is excellent intensity and punch to the mineraldriven medium weight flavors that possess plenty of mouth coating sap on the bone dry and citrus infused finish. This is terrific. Drink: 2017+.
Gosh – what a price! Unfortunately this was served so cool that it is difficult to discern its, still hidden, depths. It is pretty snazzy and reveals, in a peacock's tail finish, lot of pzazz onthe end. Well sculpted and with fully ripe fruit in which the acidity doesn't dominate. Impressivesculpture – and length. Drink 2014-2020
Puligny Montrachet is known as the most delicate of the white wine appellations south of Beaune. Its wines tend to be linear and mineral offering delicate floral and orchard fruit aromatics. Its village and premier cru vineyard area total slightly over 200 hectares but almost half of them are premier cru making them one of the highest proportions of quality vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Several grand cru vineyards are present, the most notable being Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachetwhich it shares with neighbouring Chassagne, but it does have the extraordinary Chevalier Montrachet and the tiny Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet all to itself. There are a handful of red wines grown, but they tend to be quite light and need to be drunk in their youth.
