Goedhuis & Co have offered the rosé of Ch de Sours in the early spring for many years. Last year owner and friend of Goedhuis, Martin Krajewski, sold the property; it seemed like the end of an era. But we soon learned that Martin had stayed on as a consultant at the château, and we are pleased to begin the year’s rosé offerings once again with this cheerful, easy-drinking pink from Bordeaux.

A pretty pale raspberry pink. Bright aromas of red berries and floral notes. This is so easy on the palate – ripe red fruits are balanced with zingy freshness and a creamy volume; it gets straight to the point. Drink 2017-2018.
About the Estate
Château de Sours Rosé is a classic right bank blend, the majority is Merlot (75%), which flatters the wine with red berry fruit, and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) , which adds a deeper dimension of rosé colour, and Cabernet Franc which provides lift and freshness. All in all the perfect combination for a summer rosé! Before being pressed and fermented, the grapes are macerated at cool temperatures in their own juice for 12 hours. This process, called saigné, lifting both colour and aromas from the skins, gently tints the juice and retains fresh fruit character in the finished wine.
