Last week I was fortunate enough to be invited to join LVMH along with few representatives from various wine companies at the iconic Champagne House that is Krug. This was my second visit to Champagne and I was keen to learn more. It was a very wet start leaving Hotel de la Paix in the centre of Reims, however we didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits as we set off to visit Clos d’Ambonnay.

Dom Pérignon 2006 for breakfast?

Not much can kick start a week on a more perfect note than drinking Dom Pérignon for breakfast, especially a vintage as impressive as 2006. There is a very good reason for the flurry of recent releases from Champagne, 2006 is a superlative vintage and one not to be missed. The Comtes de Champagne and Cristal releases have both received high praise from the critics, scoring 97+ and 97 respectively.
