Germany 2008 - "Sleek, vibrant wines"
2008 is a delicious, lively vintage which excelled in producing lighter and drier styled wines. Botrytis was naturally kept at bay due to the cooler autumnal weather, but these conditions worked wonders in creating fully ripe yet crisp, aromatic dry and off-dry wines.
The Wine Spectator gave the vintage an impressive A- and describes 2008 as similar to 2004 with "plenty of sleek, vibrant wines". For those drinkers who love trocken (dry), kabinett and spätlese styles, this is a vintage to buy.
