Goedhuis, December 2023
A 3-hectare Grand Cru on the hillside of Corton, which uniquely has the Faiveley name attached to it. A flagship wine for both the family and this superb Grand Cru. This extraordinary wine shows its presence with a vibrant array of dark fruits, dried herbs and spice of nutmeg and oregano. Bold, prominent and powerful, this has a great life ahead of it.

Neal Martin, January 2024, Score: 94-96
The 2022 Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru has a potent nose: think of grandmother's potpourri you smelled in her old house. It almost overwhelms that red fruit behind it. The palate is well-balanced with pure red cherry, wild strawberry, and finely-knit tannins. It’s one of the more elegant Cortons tasted with a touch of piquancy on the finish. Delightful. Drink after 8-10 years if you can resist temptation. Drinking Window: 2030-2055.

Burghound, January 2024, Score: 93-95
A pungent nose of wood toast and reduction dominate the nose. More interesting are the fresh and vibrant broad-shouldered flavors that possess both excellent volume and delineation while delivering impressively length on the powerful, youthfully austere, firm and very serious finale where a hint of warmth gradually makes itself known. This is excellent and like all good examples of Corton, very much built-to-age. Drinking 2034+.

The Grands Crus of Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay are shared between Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vines for both are planted on the hillsides underneath the plateau of Corton's woodland forest. The majorityof Pinot Noir is planted in the southern and eastern sector where the soil is naturally rich with red iron clay giving additional body and power. Overall, the wines from these areas tend to be fruit forward and fleshy with a balance of round edges and fine concentration.
