Goedhuis, August 2016
Made by one of Burgundy’s most rock n roll winemakers, Nicolas Potel, this is a great introduction to one of the Côte de Nuits’s most adored villages. With brilliant bright red cherry characteristics, this is a lively wine with appealing freshness and depth. The 1er Cru Sentiers sits at the foot of Grand Cru Bonnes Mares.

Neal Martin, December 2013, Score: 91-93
The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers has an open fleshy very pure and elegant bouquet that is very seductive. The palate is underpinned by luscious red berry fruit and struck through with fine tannins. This all leads to a delicate, feminine finish that is finely crafted.

Jancis Robinson, January 2014, Score: 16.5
Light stem character, plus lots of crunchy red fruit. Mouth-watering, bright, dry and satisfying. A bit short and simple, but very enjoyable. Drink 2015-2024

Son of the family who used to own the illustrious Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, Nicolas Potel set up his négociant label Maison Roche de Bellene in 2008. A Bourguignon through and through, Nicolas’ unrivalled local network of thoroughly reliable grower-suppliers allows him to source fruit from the most sought-after parcels in the Côte. He also produces a selection of domaine wines (under Domaine de Bellene). The emphasis remains to this day on well-sited venerable vines and viticulture and the Maison Roche de Bellene label is the superlative source of attractive, well-priced Burgundy wines. Nicolas chose the name ‘Bellene' in honour of the ancient Roman name for Beaune.Read less

Chambolle Musigny
The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
