Goedhuis, December 2011
With an average age of 55 years old, the great weight of fruit which there undoubtedly is in this wine meant that it was initially slightly closed on the nose. However, in the mouth it exploded with great brooding deep strawberry fruits. This is full and intense with fabulous ageing potential.

Burghound, January 2012, Score: 91-93
This had just been racked and not surprisingly was quite closed though aggressive swirling coaxed grudging aromas of spice, wet stone and cassis. The pure and intensely mineral-inflected flavors are shaped by exceptionally fine-grained tannins as well as excellent length on the pure, balanced and energetic finish. This is a wine of finesse and while it's notably finer than the Suchots, it'snot as complex or at least not yet. 2018+

Excellent intensity and energy on the nose. Fresh and racy. Well done! Good purity. The merest hit of rhubarb. Drink 2015-2021

The Hudelots are an ancient Burgundian family whose ancestry can be traced back to Chambolle since before the French Revolution. Needless to say, wine has been in their blood for almost as long. Alain Huedlot began his wine career in 1954 working for his father and other local growers. At the ripe young age of 20, he started renting vineyards from his family in Chambolle Musigny until eventually receiving other small parcels from his father. Following a passionate and whirlwind romance with the granddaughter of Charles Noellat, he married despite protests from her family. This controversial union ensured additional vineyards despite a harrying and lengthy legal battle. Today the domaine owns a total of 10 well-situated hectares, which are split over 5 communes. Alain Hudelot’s grandson Charles Van Canneyt is a man on a mission. Having arrived at the domaine from Champagne only six years ago, he is already considered one of the brightest young talents in the region. These wines are wonderful examples of traditionally styled Burgundy - superbly pure and focused with an undeniable sense of terroir.Read less
Region
Vosne Romanée
The vineyards of the modest village of Vosne Romanée are arguably the most sought after in the Côte d'Or. It is host to excellent Village and Premier Cru wines, but it is its most famous Grand Crusthat truly stand out: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands Echézeaux, Echézeaux, Romanée St. Vivant and La Romanée as well as Cros Parentoux, a Premier Cru vineyard which attracts Grand Cru attention (and prices). Vosne-Romanée can be remarkably robust and powerful, yet be charming and fleshy giving it one of the most diverse styles of the region.
