LOIRE

2016 Michel Redde Petit Fume  | HK$ 120/ bottle
This cuvée from young vines grown on flinty limestone soils is perfect for early drinking. Made by the enterprising Sébastien Redde. Goedhuis & Co

BURGUNDY

2015 Marcel Couturier Mâcon-Loche | HK$ 120/ bottle
Zesty tangerine and wonderful ripe flavours of pineapple and apricot burst from the glass. This has such an appetizing, textured palate. It showcases the high quality attainable in the best sites across the MâconGoedhuis & Co

2015 Jean-Marc Boillot Montagny 1er Cru Vieux Chateau | HK$ 195/ bottle
A hugely versatile wine: open, opulent nose with hints of spice and stone fruit.  A creamy smooth palate with lovely freshness gives this wine a lot of charm. Goedhuis & Co

2015 Jean-Marc Boillot Ruly 1er Cru Rabource | HK$ 195/ bottle
Rabourcé is the most well-known of the Rully 1ers Crus, and in 2014 this wine is an absolute gem. It has aromas of sweet nectarine - like the sticky juice that runs down your wrists in summer - combined with a vibrant dash of acidity on the palate all held together by a restrained, creamy texture. SuperbGoedhuis & Co

2013 Domaine Pinson Freres 1er Cru Fourchaume | HK$200 / bottle
An elegant, fresh, ripe and layered combination of white flowers, pear, sea water and shellfish hints leads to textured and unusually powerful medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract. This pretty and restrained effort should drink well both young and with bottle age. Drink 2018+ 89 points,  Burghound.com

2013 Patrick Javillier Savigny les Beaune Blanc Les Montchenevoy | HK$240 / bottle
Savigny has created a reputation for making great red wine, but white winemaking star Patrick Javillier has used his considerable skills and experience from Meursault ot create a very creamy and generously full white wine. Very giving with lots of depth on the finish.  Goedhuis & Co

2013 Billaud Simon Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu | HK$250 / bottle
A wonderfully fresh and cool if highly restrained nose is comprised of floral, spice and mildly exotic dried yellow fruit aromas. There is fine volume to the succulent and utterly delicious flavors that possess good dry extract that contributes to the seductive mouth feel of the intensely saline and lingering finish. 90 points,  Burghound.com

2013 Patrick Javillier Meursault Clos du Cromin | HK$ 395/ bottle
A hugely versatile wine: open, opulent nose with hints of spice and stone fruit.  A creamy smooth palate with lovely freshness gives this wine a lot of charm. Goedhuis & Co

2013 Jean-Philippe Fichet Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts | HK$ 550/ bottle
A great wine and the natural weight of fruit that this vineyard achieves very much suits Jean-Philippe's style of wine making. Bright citrus fruits, tremendous harmony and a lovely bite of freshness on the finish. Goedhuis & Co

RED WINES

BORDEAUX

2012 Ch Ferran, Pessac-Léognan | HK$ 165 / bottle
Notes of tobacco leaf, roasted herbs, red and black currants are found in this medium-bodied, straightforward 2012. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.   Robert Parker, April 2013

2011 La Reserve de Leoville Barton, St Julien  | HK$ 225 / bottle
This is impressive, with blueberry and blackberry character, plus hints of licorice. Full body with silky tannins and a chewy finish. Almost smoky. Needs at least three to four years of bottle age. Second wine of Léoville-Barton. 90 points James Suckling, August 2014

2009 Ch de Fonbel, St Emilion | HK$ 270 / bottle
Brilliant ruby colour. This relatively unsung St Emilion owned by the Vauthier family of Ch Ausone has delicious sweet plum fruit aromas, with a lovely broad volume of juicy ripe fruit flavours in the palate. This has subtle depth without being power-packed, and a refreshing touch of acidity on the finish. Good, long and a fine reminder of how rewarding St Emilion wines can be. Goedhuis & Co

2007 Chateau Langoa Barton, 3eme Cru St Julien | HK$ 350 / bottle
An attractive bouquet of blackberry, raspberry leaf, wild hedgerow and a whiff of chalk dust: good definition with well-integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with ripe tannins, just a dash of white pepper, cedar and a touch of tobacco towards the finish that displays very good fruit concentration and length for the vintage. Tasted January 2011. 90 points, Neal Martin

2007 Ch Lagrange, 5eme Cru Pauillac | HK$ 395/ bottle
An outstanding effort, the seductive, plump, broadly flavored, dense purple-colored 2007 Lagrange boasts sweet creme de cassis, camphor, and subtle spicy oak notes. Generously endowed and medium to full-bodied, it is ideal for drinking over the next 10-12 years. Drink: 2010 - 2022- 90 points, Robert Parker

2001 Ch Le Gay, Pomerol | HK$ 650 / bottle
Patience is rewarded in this delicious 2001. The medium ruby garnet colour gives the wine a still youthful appearance, although the nose is imbued with developing tertiary notes of a 15 year old wine at the peak of its drinking window. Gamey aromas are teamed with chalky freshness on the palate, with finely-knit powdery tannins and poised dark fruit. It is savoury and complex.
Goedhuis & Co

2000 Ch Brane-Cantenac, 2eme Cru Margaux | HK$ 825/ bottle
Fully mature and very attractive, the 2000 Brane Cantenac, which started a succession of brilliant wines from this famous estate in the Margaux appellation, has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, a sweet, juicy nose of blue, red, and black fruits, and a hint of damp earth as well as subtle herbs. Spicy, round, complex, very lush, and at its plateau of maturity, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years at minimum. This is Margaux elegance and silkiness at its very best.  92 points, Robert Parker

2006 Ch Pichon-Lalande, 2eme Cru Pauillac | HK$ 925/ bottle
The 2006 Pichon Lalande, which blows away the 2005, represents a return to the velvety-textured, rich, sexy style most readers would associate with Pichon Lalande. This blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot no Petit Verdot was included in the final blend exhibits a dense purple color as well as abundant aromas of chocolate, coffee, cedar, black currants, and a subtle touch of smoke, a rich, savory, full-bodied mouthfeel, plump, fleshy fruit, and a superb finish. This is a 21st century version of the brilliant 1996. Drink: 2013 - 2030 95 points, Robert Parker

BURGUNDY

2013 Jean-Pierre Charton Mercurey Vieilles Vignes | HK$ 150 / bottle
Bright ruby red colour.  This is full of crisp bright red cherry flavours, very open and striking, with gentle sweetness on the finish. Goedhuis & Co

2012 Charles Audoin Marsannay Les Favieres | HK$195 / bottle
One of the village’s most central vineyards, this is a classic example of why the reputation of this relatively unknown appellation is fast on the rise. Stunning aromas of raspberries and strawberries, this has a delicious purity of fruit, with tremendous refinement and a great long full finish. Huge potential. Goedhuis & Co

2011 Maison Roche de Bellene Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots | HK$380 / bottle & $895 / Mag

2011 Geantet Pansiot Gevrey Chambertin | HK$395 / bottle
The decision to pick later than many of their neighbours allows this wine to express its deep black fruit flavours.  A wine of intensity and great concentration with broad Gevrey flavours. Goedhuis & Co

2011 Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Les Frémiets  | HK$480/ bottle
A deft but not invisible application of wood still allows the bright and very pinot nose to have center stage. The wood also shows up on the middle weight and tautly muscular yet refined flavors that display a similar touch of youthful asperity. In the same vein, my score offers the benefit of the doubt that the asperity will dissipate in time with bottle age. 89 points, Burghound.com

2011 Drouhin Laroze Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Au Closeau  | HK$495/ bottle
(from 60+ year old vines). A pretty and restrained nose features notes of violet, earth, various wild red berries and subtle spice hints. There is a beguiling texture to the velvety and utterly delicious middle weight flavours that conclude with  mild austerity on the understated and balanced finish. If this can add depth with time in bottle my score may be overly conservative as I very much like the delivery. 89-91 points, Burghound.com

2011 Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles  | HK$550/ bottle
Neighouring the 1er Cru vineyards of Beauen this vineyard is defined by its very pretty, sweet red fruit flavours. It is a precise style, with great clairity of bright fruits and harmonious tannins. Appealing, balanced and long. Goedhuis & Co

2008 Chandon de Briailles Corton Grand Cru Marechaudes | HK$620/ bottle
A moderately reduced nose cannot be properly deciphered yet there is good volume and preciion to the balanced, dusty and complex medium-bodied flavours that possess adequate but not truly striking length for a grand cru. 89-92 points, Burghound.com

2011 Christian Serafin Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux | HK$650/ bottle
A wine full of fresh strawberry coulis flavours. This is a lively and pure wine supported by upfront grainy tannins.  Corbeaux lies just to the north of  the large blocks of Grands Crus within Gevrey Chambertin, and Domaine Serafin's is a consistently high performer. Goedhuis & Co
