We are delighted once again to highlight these superb cheeses for the Christmas season. If you have attended any of our tastings you will be well aware of just how delicious the cheese from Philippe Olivier is. Every cheese is made by carefully selected farmers from around France, aged in Philippe Olivier’s cellars in Boulogne and then brought to London to fulfil orders when perfectly mature.

We wanted to share our incredibly exciting news that Catherine has been awarded her Master of Wine. It is a notoriously challenging course, and she joins our Buying Director, David Roberts MW, as one of just 369 in the world. Catherine has not only completed all three stages successfully, but has done so in record time, vaulting every hurdle at the first attempt.

Pomerol (and a little bit of St Emilion) on a bike

The French are notoriously strict about closing down for a proper holiday in August, so a  family holiday in Lalande de Pomerol did not include any formal visits of the great chateaux just across the Brabanne stream – also arguably not the ideal environment for a nine-year old, however well behaved… However the view from the terrace across to Gazin, Evangile, La Conseillante and Petrus was too tempting, so I jumped on a bike for a ride through the vines.
